bake-a-palooza 2011

So every year I go crazy...yes crazy...and bake up a storm for Christmas.  It was a tradition in my family, my mom used to bake a TON of stuff before the holidays, but as time has passed she hasn't really continued and I decided with my love of baking I would take over.  With my family and Armen's ever expanding family (he is the oldest of 8 and we're on #4 getting married in May) things go quickly...Plus it's a good excuse to stop in at the neighbors and drop off some treats AND I have a couple coworkers that have favorites I share my batches with....So, I lovingly have titled my baking "bake-a-palooza" cause it's pretty insane for awhile around here...a couple years ago we bought me a double oven, which has really helped the process a bit...the craziness started on Saturday and I am pleased to say aside from almond bark pretzels, which I won't make till the 23rd or Christmas eve (otherwise Armen will eat them all) I am done.  So I figured I would share some pics of the treats...

and for the 2011 record:
Cookies/treats mades: 704
total dozen: 58.6

like I said...crazy.
Sugar cookies...
Candy cane snowballs...
Snowflake (spritz) cookies...
Peanutbutter blossoms...
Dipped Gingersnaps...
Chocolate Chip Cherry...
And the family favorite...Cookie Dough Truffles...

  1. Holy smokes!!! You HAVE been baking up a storm! I'm a good cook, but a lousy baker. But I wanted to start a baking tradition for my kids too. We're starting small this year... chocolate covered pretzels (yes, i'm calling it baking because of the whole double broiler thing)... and sugar cookies NOT from a package! YAY me!

Your goodies look AWESOME!! Merry Christmas sweet friend! xoxoxo
