Year and a half...

It is SO hard for me to believe my sweet girls have been part of our lives for a YEAR AND A HALF already.  Man time flies.  Every day they grow and learn more and astonish me in ways I never thought possible.  New things we have learned:

  • both LOVE forks, still call them spoons, but want one whenever they see us using one
  • both LOVE climbing, couches, chairs...doesn't matter...they WILL figure out how to get on top of it.
  • both LOVE grapes...this was a fruit I feared giving them due to choking, but they ADORE them and cannot get enough "papes"
Ari:
  • We have stopped counting words in her vocabulary...I swear she has WELL over 50 words she knows and uses properly...and she adds daily.
  • She knows the proper use of "up" and "down" and states both when climbing on couches and going up and down stairs...not to mention any time she wants out of your arms.
  • She finished up getting her first molars in February.
  • She easily uses 2 word phrases...hi daddy, hi mommy, it's teddy, it's cordi, all done, thank you (her thank you is AMAZING...seriously, amazing)...etc.
  • She astonishes us by using 3 word sentences...favorites at this point are..."I see you" "I meet you" (her version of nice to meet you when you shake her hand) and lately anytime she sees a baby on the computer or tv, "It's a baby"
  • She "reasons" with us...such as, the other day I told her to come back to me as we were playing outside and she was headed toward mud that would swallow her whole...she stated "blah blah blah blah...k?"  it always ends in "k?" and she then proceeds to do what she wanted.
  • She throws balls overhand
  • She runs....oh how she runs...

Cordi:
  • Her vocabulary has expanded...she has atleast a couple dozen words she uses in a correct fashion.
  • She is more and more using 2 word phrases..."hi daddy" "hi mommy" "all done"
  • She knows up and down
  • She LOVES playing with the remote control or phone...and has conversations about mommy and daddy on the phone.
  • She is very good at sharing...you just have to ask her to share and she usually will hand over an object to sister...we have been heavily applauding this in hopes that it continues.
  • She has such a tender heart...she is stubborn as all get out and throws tantrums too...but she LOVES to hug and give kisses and snuggle...I am so glad one baby does.
  • She is starting to run...maybe to catch up with sister.
  • And for kicks and giggles...I wasn't in their room with them yesterday for a few minutes and noticed it had gotten REALLY quiet...this was what I walked into...thankfully it was just baby powder so it smelled great and cleaned up easy.
