Cozad again...

Last weekend, I packed the girls back up, colds and all and drove back out to Cozad with my folks. I debated over and over whether to go or not...the girls' colds were bad (lots of coughing and runny noses) and I know my folks don't love being exposed. But it was laid on my heart to help my folks and the last chance I had to soak in the memories and say goodbye to their house. So, my folks were gracious and let me help...kudos to them cause Ari sounded like she was dying with her cough.
In the midst of everything, my grandpa has this AMAZING neighbor on the farm...her name is Brenda...she is a believer who LOVED my gramps and has always bent over backwards to help him.  She's cared for his horses over the years and tended to things when he was sick and living with my parents in Lincoln.  Brenda also is the owner of the massive amount of miniature donkeys that are housed on gramps' farm as well as her own farm.  They are a serious hoot.  And MAN ALIVE if you have EVER heard a donkey bray, it is NOT a simple hee-haw...it's the LOUDEST thing I have heard coming from something so small!  Brenda offered after she heard we were there last time that if we were around and the weather permitted she would love to give the girls a ride in the donkey cart.  My girls were intrigued. :)  Now, Cordi thought it meant she was going to ride on the donkey's back and she kept calling them ponies....I am to blame for that...they've seen my little ponies a few too many times...but they had a blast.
walking to brenda's...you can see gramps' farm in the background...
feeding the ducks...
feeding the donkeys...
now if any of you know ari you know up to this point she's been terrified of anything animal wise bigger than her...but she was willing to ride the donkey...I was SOOO proud...this one of my faves btw as cordi is feeding the donkey from like 3 ft away while ari is riding it...
look at her go...
cordi too...
when done they helped brush out the donkeys...ari again, willing to touch the donkey...so proud.
cordi brushing...
I had a hard time with it...as was expected. We visited my grandparents grave, the girls helped with the flowers.  Saying goodbye to the house was hard...I will miss it, and all the memories attached.  Hopefully the new owners will love and create new memories with their grandchildren in the house...cause I know it's a great place for memories.
a gloomy day, but I love this shot...
