The girls turned 2 on wednesday...I tried my best to fill the day with their favorite things...we got up and they played, we had a bubble bath and put on our birthday shirts, we rode the cart at the grocery store, we got mcdonalds and then spent the afternoon at grandma's house, we played outside on the riding toys and swung, we then had a birthday party with all our favorite people...both grandmas, both grandpas, mommy, daddy, Aunt Noelle, Aunt Autumn, Uncle Mikie, Cousin Kale...the rest of our aunts and uncles as well...it was a PACKED house (20 total...that's just immediate family). We had pizza for dinner and cake and icecream, they even both sucessfully blew out their own candle! We took our bounce house over to my folks and blew it up in the living room so the littler kids could jump...which man oh man...watching ari, cordi and kale going at it, was HILARIOUS...three 2 year olds going at it in a bounce house...a sight to be seen.
We had gifts as well...Ari enjoyed tearing open the paper and cordi just wanted everyone to take the toys out so she could play with them....she got a couple new babies and instantly wanted it open, didn't care there was more to open.
The day was quite fun, SO tiring for me...since our house is not able to host yet, my mom was gracious even with the loss of her dad to allow us to have the party at her house...so...I tried to the best of my ability to keep her from having to do any work...I am still exhausted. But it was fun to see my girls actually understand the concept of their birthday and tell people they were 2. Fun to see them know their cake and understand what mommy had made. The cake theme was...monkeys jumping on the bed...they LOVE that story/song/anything to do with it. So fun.
God truly blessed me with these 2 girls and I am so thankful for the them in our lives, and thankful God has given them 2 years with us so far...It was hard and sad for me to not have gramps there...he was so close to seeing them turn 2...but that's ok...I know he loved them and me...and we celebrated the best we could.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, and I mean SO much, for taking the time to leave a comment about the button. I hear you 100%, and I completely agree! I love that picture of Livia, but you're right...it doesn't represent my blog as a whole. I think I might be leaning toward the apple shot with the bunny ears. Colorful, simple, and a bit whimsical. Thanks so much for your feedback! :-)
