So...what's new here...the girls turned one last week, their birthday was quite fun, except for Ari having the family cold. Cake was had...gifts were opened. It was quite adorable, the girls were quite into opening the gifts, which was not expected. I still can't believe they are one. They had their one year appointments and I think they are doing great. They both weigh in at 16lbs 8oz and Ari is 29 inches long while Cordi is a bit smaller at 28.5 inches. The drs say they are "concerned" about their weights as they appear to be dropping off the charts...I see how much they eat and how active they are and am confident they are fine, healthy and growing.
Ari is on day 4 of walking and loving it. We knew the second that child figured out the concept of walking we were in for trouble, and thus far, that is true. The most adorable thing is 9 times out of 10 she wants/needs to carry something with her. We originally got her to take more than a couple steps by handing her a foam sword. The thing was twice the size of her, but she toted it up and down the hall for an hour or so. Now, it's a burp rag...whatever works I guess. She is also working on tooth numbers 3-4, 3 is mostly through and 4 is definitely on it's way. Meanwhile she is trying to learn as many new words as possible and often times repeating things we are saying, it's an odd thing, but so fun to see her learn and grow. Her vocabulary includes: No, Momma/Mommy, Daddy, Baby, Nigh Nigh, Bye Bye...I think there's more, I can't remember at the moment. Cordi is not walking, but we trust that watching Ari for awhile will definitely kick that into gear. There is a definite jealousy/competitiveness there that runs DEEP...no idea where that came from! :) She is also working on teeth number 7-8, 7 mostly through and 8 I am guessing is on it's way. That child has a mouth full of chompers! Her favorite word at the moment is "mama". Which can mean anything from, momma to please and most of the time has a rather italian sounding accent to it. :) Other than that she loves to laugh and is more interested in making fun noises than actually forming real words, though I am not worried, she is my snuggle baby and is very laid back and I think it is going to be a great thing for her to have Ari Miss Queen of the Overachievers as her big sister to push her to new things and milestones.
The house...in progress...always in progress. We got the floor joists over the addtion built last saturday and sunday placed the decking on top of them. Next comes starting of the framing of the addition...first we are getting some advice as to how to proceed, which is probably a good thing. We are also hoping to start the remainder of the HVAC installed in the near future. Which will be a GREAT step and will be SO nice to have a good efficient furnace and actual central air for the WHOLE house.
Life is crazy and exhausting, but I am so blessed. I so love watching my girls grow, change and learn, I love seeing the progress on our home and am desperately trying to keep the end picture in mind despite how overwhelming it all is.
