Progress is progress...

We worked on the house all weekend again...no real surprise there.  Saturday we got a portion of the ceiling joists up and one of the LVL beams in place.  While that doesn't sound like much, it is.  We also had another quote done for our HVAC work, trying to find someone reasonable and reliable.  Sunday I sent the girls to my mom's again (they were there Saturday as well) and pitched in at the house some more.  We spent the entire afternoon hanging the remainder of the ceiling joists and cutting and bolting down decking on the roof.  I tell you, I am getting pretty handy with power tools especially an cordless drill!  So although it doesn't seem like much...progress was made...every day it becomes more and more like a real addition...like it will be a real room we could live in.  Below...addition with all four walls up and the first section of ceiling joist in place.

Meanwhile, while I was hard at work, my baby girls hung out with grandpa and grandma AND great grandpa.  I am so blessed to be able to have my grandfather still in my life and in the girls lives.  I am so blessed that he has been able to be in their lives for the last year and that he gets to be around for awhile longer.  I know God knows how many days he has...but I am so blessed he is here now.  I miss my grandma dearly...more when I look at the pictures of my grandpa with the girls...I know how much she would have loved my girls and how great of a great grandma she would have been.  I am sad that she didn't get to live to meet them.  I am blessed that I had her in my life for as long as I did, but miss her dearly.  BUT since I have my gramps around, any chance I get, I snap pics of him and the girls, for my sake and for theirs someday so they know that their great grandpa loved them dearly, and played with them whenever he could.  Oh yeah...my grandpa is a very SPRY 91 years old...though if you ask me...he doesn't look it.
