15 months old...

Well like with many things, I set out to write this ON their 15 month "birhday" but failed...so...a day late and a dollar short...my girls hit 15 months yesterday!  I thought I would sum up where they are and what they are up to and liking these days....so away we go!

Ariana Irene:

Ari has been walking since a couple days after her first birthday...she is now loving to run (more like speed walking right now) and spin in circles while saying "wee!!"  She loves to run and hide behind things and say, "bye bye" or "buh bye" right before she disappears.  She loves to read books and often begs to be read to.  She is great at animal noises, they get better and better as the days pass...my favorite at the moment is what a lion says...it's the best rawr I have heard.  We know where pretty much all of the main body parts are...such as, eyes, nose, ears, hair, toes, belly and tongue...and she does say "eye" when she points to her eye.  She loves hats...does seem to enjoy wearing them, but loves taking them off and trying to put them back on.  Her favorite words tend to be baby, hi, byebye, daddy, mommy and hat.  Though that is definitely not the limit of her vocabulary.  Her newest words have been pea, and she is attempting diaper.  We LOVE bath time and I think we would live in the bath if we could.  She adores her teddy bear and blankies.  We are amazed at how verbal she is and how active!  Keeping her still for any length of time is a challenge.  We recently discovered we dislike snow, but don't seem to mind our big bulky winter coat.  We know what "nigh nigh" means and if asked to nigh nigh, will promptly lay down wherever we are and start snoring noises...She adores babies...meaning the dolls...and will carry them around everywhere she goes.  She also thinks the camera is a baby...she often walks up to me with the camera and points to the view screen saying, "baby"...wonder what mommy takes lots of pics of?  She has *seemed* to be out of the night terror stage as this last month, as we have not had an episode in a couple weeks.  She currently has 6 teeth and seems content to continue to be a slow teether.  She'll get them all eventually I am sure, but man it's a slow process for her!  We will find out next week if she has gained enough weight to get the dr's off my back about her growth curve...I am still not concerned and not planning on pursuing testing even if the scale does not make them happy.

Cordelia Ann:

Our children could not be more different.  While Ari is crazy active and driven, Cordi is SO laid back and relaxed.  She started walking right on her 14 month "birthday" and hasn't really done too much with it.  She walks when she wants but did not pick it up as quickly as Ari.  She just in the last couple weeks has pushed to walk around more.  She doesn't "talk" like a normal person would expect, while she makes her needs and wants known, she has few words.  Her favorite word is Mama...which can mean anything from mama to please.  She does talk, but we have become convinced she may be a ventrilliquist when she gets older.  She has GREAT enunciation....with her mouth shut.  She says book, kitty and a variety of other things you can make out, just with her lips shut.  She loves music, any of her toys that make noise she will sit with for a long time.  Also LOVES shape sorters and really excells with them.  She has the patience to sit and flip them around methodically until she finds the right spot...Ari does not have this patience and easily frustrates with it.  She too knows all her main body parts...eyes, ears, nose, tongue, teeth, toes, belly and her favorite...belly button.  Beware, if ever on the floor with untucked shirt, she will seek out your belly button with passion.  She LOVES cars, and has for quite awhile now...if given the choice of a baby or a car, the car would win.  She too loves bath time and would live there if possible.  Cordi is our teething CHAMP!  She has 10 teeth right now and is working on #11 and 12 (top first molars).  She never complains and pops them through like it's nothing!  I usually can't tell if she's teething unless I stick a finger in there to feel around.  She is our cuddler, she loves giving hugs and big wet kisses.  She is a pro at blowing kisses and does so every night at bed time.

These are just some of the things we're doing, learning and loving...it's such a joy to watch them grow and change and learn all sorts of new things.  I will continue to share the new things we learn as they come about.

  1. Your girls have gotten so big, Tracy. They're adorable. I am surprised how different they are, but that is to be expected... even IF they are twins!! ;) Hope to see you in church while we are back!

  2. Thanks Sarah! Great to hear from you! I am still so amazed at how quickly they grow. And yeah, I think God has a great sense of humor sometimes, I don't think they could be more different twins. :)
